GIER, EVERETT B. H. - Of Jackson passed away April 20, 2010 age 80. He was born November 9, 1929 to Harold and Marie (Brooks) Gier. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Joan (Natschke) Gier; five children, Cindy (Bernie) VanVleet-Roberts, Brenda (Dave) Freese, Bradley (Terri), Juanita Key, and Julie (Dave) Babcock; ten grandchildren, Jenny, Brian, Jason, Courtney, Danielle, Benjamin, Zachery, Josh, Dale, and Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Marissa, Mason, and Walker; three brothers, David, Roger, and Robert. Preceded in death by one grandson, Shawn Kenton. He was a member of the American Legion Post #324 and the American Cribbage Congress #332. He worked in his younger years a Jackson City Police Officer and later at Clark Equipment and retired from Schrader Machine. He served in the Navy on the USS Bronson during Korea. Everett was an avid fisherman, cribbage player, and loved gardening. He loved and was proud of his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cascades Humane Society or the Dahlem Center. www.mem.com www.Mlive.com/obits
