Margaret Marie Lingle
Margaret Marie Lingle, 63, of Van Nuys, Calif., passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, at the Valley Presbyterian Hospital,Van Nuys, after a lengthy illness.
Born July 31, 1915, to Will and Lillie Ahring in Lincoln County, Marie attended Elkvale school, south of Lincoln, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1933. She then taught in the rural schools of Lincoln County for ten years. She spent two years in Denver and while there met and married Eugene Lingle. They moved to California and had lived there the past 32 years. For the past 15 years she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager at a furniture and appliance store in Van Nuys.
While a small child she was baptized in the Presbyterian church, joining the church while in high school.
Marie spread sunshine and made friends wherever she went. To know her was to love her.
Survivors include two sons, Scott of Van Nuys, and Charles of Simi, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Zartman, Eldorado Springs, Mo., and Mrs. Hazel White, Lincoln; two brothers, Emerson Ahring of Mesa, Ariz., and Lloyd Ahring of Lincoln; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorial services were held Thursday, Oct. 5, in Van Nuys, Calif.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 9, at Hall Memorial Chapel. Rev. Wing was in charge of the service. Interment was in the Lincoln cemetery.
