Nancy is believed to be the eldest child of John Dillon (c1785 - c1846) and Rachel Hamilton Dillon (c1785 - c1840). She was born in Pennsylvania and married John Campbell Cox (c1802 - 1860) in Belmont Co., Ohio, in 1824. To this union were born: Allison, William, Elizabeth, Mary, Elihue, Anna, John Dillon, Hamilton, Nelson Headley, Garison Read and Shelby M. Cox. The 1830 Belmont Co. Census for Warren Twp., lists, at least, one additional younger male 0-5 years of age. John and Nancy later resettled to Franklin Twp., Monroe Co., Ohio for the 1840, 1850 Censuses before resettling to Athens Co., Ohio by 1860. Nancy was a sister to Vincent Dillon, Sr., who resettled to Lawrence Co., Ohio in the middle 1840s from Monroe Co., the first of his Dillon line, along with his father, John, to do so. Nancy and John were here buried in the New Marshfield Cemetery, Athens Co., Ohio, just a few miles to the west of the city of Athens.
