DEATH'S CONTINUAL HARVEST

The Busy Sickle of the Great Reaper
Which Seems Never to Tire.

EDGAR BURNSIDE

Edgar Burnside, who for many years has been a resident of Deposit and surrounding community, died early Sunday morning at the home of Elmer Mills, Barbourville, at the advanced age of eighty-two years, five months, and seven days. The cause of death was arterio sclerosis (hardening of the arteries).

"Uncle Ed," as he was familiarly known to nearly everyone hereabouts, has been in failing health ever since the Loomis House fire, when he was carried from the burning building. During the past year he has been a great sufferer, unable to care for himself.

Mr. Burnside, until failing health prohibited his doing so, always took an active interest in Masonic affairs. He was a member of Deposit Lodge, No. 396, F. & A. M., and of Deposit Chapter, No. 187, R. A. M.

"Uncle Ed," was a friend of everyone. He was possessed of a kind heart and was always ready to do a kind deed whenever the opportunity came to him. As such his life was a blessing and benefaction to all within the sphere of its influence.

The funeral will be held at the Masonic temple this Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev . George R. Merrill, a former pastor of the Deposit Presbyterian Church, and at one time chaplain of both the Lodge and Chapter, now pastor of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Binghamton, will officiate. Burial in Laurel Hill cemetery, where the Masonic services will be conducted.

He is survived by one brother, Nelson, of Stilesville.
