John Wood 25-Year Armour Employee

John Wood, 75, of Kankakee, died Thursday (July 4, 2002) at his home. Private Cremation services were held. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.

He retired from Armour Pharmaceutical in 1989 after 25 years. Mr. Wood was born June 17, 1927 in Williamsport, IN, the son of William and Carrie Works Wood. His wife of 47 years, Lorraine Wood, is deceased.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Renee Wood of Liemstone; one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Jerry Harsha of Kankakee; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. One grandson, Carl W Boyd; four brohters; and two sisters, are deceased.

Mr. Wood was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy from 1943-1947 on-board a mine sweeper. He was a member of the Kankakee VFW, and enjoyed fishing, woodworkin and traveling in his motorhome.
