Pioneer Citizen of County Killed in Auto Accident.T. J. Sims Loses Life when Auto Overturns in Mississippi.

One of Chambers County's life-long pioneer residents, T. J. Sims, was killed and three members of his family were injured when the auto Mr. Sims was driving left the highway near Hickory Flat, Mississippi, last Wednesday afternoon and turned over three times. Mr. Sims was 75 years of age.
In the auto with Mr. Sims were his wife, Mrs. T. J. Sims, who suffered cuts and bruises; their daughter, Mrs. R. L. Dunn, broken collar bone, cuts and bruises, and Mr. and Mrs. Sims' grandson, Edward Sims, age 10, who suffered minor injuries.
The party was enroute to Desark, Arkansas, to visit Mrs. Sims' mother when the tragedy occurred.
Funeral services were held from the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a member, Saturday with Elder Roy Avery conducting. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery with J. E. Cutler in charge of funeral arrangements.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Estella Sims, LaFayette; children, Carlton and Ida, LaFayette; Myrtice, Detroit; Olin, Macie, Grady and Floyd, LaFayette; Vardaman, Montgomery and Aubrey, Lanett; brothers and sisters, Mollie Walden, Jena Price, Lewis Sims, Charlie Sims, Henry Sims.
