Mrs. Leila Phillips Peebles, 83, Route 1, Stapleton, Georgia, entered into rest Sunday, September 24, 1978, at St. Joseph hospital, Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Mount Beulah Baptist Church with the Revs. Eugene Price and Bill Seaman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Peebles was a native of McDuffie County, Ga., but had lived in Warren County, Ga. for a number of years. She was a member of the Mount Beulah Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband; Tom Peebles; six daughters, Mrs. Paul McNair, Stapleton, Mrs. Chesley Allen, Mrs. Earl Tankersley, Mrs. Harold Hammett, Thomson, Ga., Mrs. Lindsey Newman, Grovetown, Mrs. A.P. Russell, Wrens, Ga.; two sons, James Peebles, and Willie T. Peebles, Stapleton; one sister, Mrs. Hubert Usry Sr., Augusta. Curtis Funeral Home.
