Baker, Augusta (Sutton)

Mrs. B. L. Baker (Augusta), who had been ill of a heart condition many months, passed away Sept 18, 1963, under circumstances not entirely unexpected, but grevious and filled with shock for her children. She died at the close of funeral services for her daughter, Mildred (Mrs. Stone) in Sprague, on Wednesday. Mildred's death was a shock to Mrs. Baker, who had been in the Odessa nursing home for several months.

Augusta Sutton was born Oct 30, 1880 in New England, Ohio. On Oct 10, 1898 at Athens, Ohio, she was married to B L Baker and the family made their home there until June, 1909 when with their two children, Dana and Mildred, they came to Harrington. A third child, Bernice, was born to them here.

Mr. Baker was employed by the city for 20 years. In 1944 he retired. Mr. Baker died Aug 9, 1959. Interment was in Hillcrest cemetery, beside her husband. Survivors include her children, Dana Baker and Mrs. Leo Birge (Bernice), grandchildren and great grandchildren. (Citizen-26 Sept 1963)
