Othel Mae Balabas, 90, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 23, 2004. Graveside services were conducted Dec. 27 at Green Acres Memory Gardens, with Dr. Bud Fray officiating.
Mrs. Balabas was born Jan. 21, 1914 in Putnam County, the daughter of Philander F. and Mary Ellen Allen Hawkins.
She was retired from the real estate business and was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, James Eddie Harris of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Balabas; brothers, Dallas Hawkins, Allen Hawkins, Tillman Hawkins, William Hawkins and Herman Hawkins; and sisters, Ingie Maynard, Lassie Warren and Prilla Taylor.
Pallbearers were Paul Taylor, Tom Taylor, Homer Taylor, Clyde Taylor, Robert Hawkins, Doug Hawkins and Jack Phann.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC was in charge of the arrangements.
