Mr. Earlie Thomas Mabe, 84, of Walkertown died Sunday at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 8, 1915, in Stokes County to the late Thomas William and Lottie Martin Mabe. He was a retired farmer and a member of Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since 1972. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Wayne Mabe, who died in 1961 and his daughter, Mary Jo Richardson, who died in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Mabe of the home; one daughter, Virginia and husband, Curtis Shell of Walkertown; one son-in-law, Rollen Richardson of Walnut Cove; one sister, Mattie Sue Snow of Winston-Salem; one brother, Elmer Mabe of Walkertown; grandchildren Hank Todd Shell of Winston-Salem, Lynn Shell Kuehl and husband, Alan of Rockwell and Sandra Jane Richardson of Walnut Cove; a great-grandson on the way; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Elder William Dodson, Elder Charlie Stephens and Elder J.H. Keaton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home, Walnut Cove. (Obituary supplied by Andy Rogers)
