Nedra Lucile Myrberg Peck leaves behind a legacy of love, caring and compassion for others. Those who knew Nedra understood that she always worried about others before herself. She now leaves many family and friends behind, but was thrilled to reunite with her husband Max and many other close family members who she has longed to see again. Nedra passed away peacefully on April 12, 2010 at her eldest child Maxine's home, just a few weeks shy of her eighty-sixth birthday.

She was born May 9, 1924 to Axel J. Myrberg and Edna Bell Clements. The oldest of nine children, she spent most of her youth growing up in the Fifth Ward of the Pioneer Stake. She and her dad, Axel, regularly performed at various events, where they had the unique talent of playing the "musical saw." She loved playing the saw.

Nedra met Max Peck of American Fork and they were married on November 30, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. She spent the early years of her married life in Lehi, Salt Lake City, and Holladay.

In 1968, the family moved to Encinitas, California, where they lived for sixteen years. Nedra always missed being closer to family and her mountains, so they moved back to Utah in 1984.

Max passed away in February 1987 and a few years later Nedra moved in with Maxine and enjoyed that companionship with Maxine for many years. Nedra was very active in her faith as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she held a variety of callings in the wards in which she served.

Nedra was preceded in death by her husband Max, a son Johnny, a son-in-law Charles Gary Asay, her parents, her siblings Raymond Myrberg, Joyce Reese, John Myrberg and Nancy Carlson and grandsons Robert Kunz Peck and Aaron Gregory Peck. She is survived by eight children; Maxine Asay, Tim (Becky) Peck, Linda (Gary) Solomon, Ned (Nik) Peck, Julie (Harris) Scott, Gary (Joy) Peck, Tammy (Mike) Garrett, Greg (Tammy) Peck; sisters Janet Jenson, Carolyn Kadlack and Bernice (Bunny) Morrill and brother Dale Myrberg, forty grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren and more on the way.

During World War II, many of the young married women who grew up together in the Pioneer Stake formed a club. This club met regularly for over 63 years, until recent illnesses made doing so difficult. Nedra is also survived by three remaining club members, her dearest friends Phyllis Howard, Betty Wilkins, and LaVon West.

Nedra spent much of the last two years in Crosslands Care Center in Sandy, where she met many close friends and continued to try to make the lives of those in the care center better. She was happy to be home her remaining few months, enjoying the company of dozens of friends and family members.

Our family would like to thank all of those who offered care to Nedra, including her nurses and aides at Crosslands and the nurses and aides with Alpine Hospice. In addition, thank you in particular to her children who spent weeks away from family to care for mom during theses final months. Mom was a peacemaker and to the end always was concerned for others. We will miss her love, prayers, hugs, and kisses, but mom assured us that her love and prayers will continue on the other side. Please join us in celebrating Mom's life.
