Married Margaret Heefner in 1780, Hagerstown, Bedford County, Maryland.
Emigrated to the Colonies from Germany 1765-70. He fought with the Bedford County PA. militia. Moved from PA. to Maryland where he met and married Margaret Heefner. Sometime around 1798 they moved to Botetourt County, VA. Received land grant from U.S. Government rendered in the American Revolution. Walker homestead on Craigs Creek, Valley of Sinking Creek, in the County of Botetourt, New Castle, VA. Botetourt County is now Craig County. He was known as Colonel George Walker.
Children: John, 1781-; George Jr., 1783-; Jacob, 1785-1859; Elizabeth (Betsy) 1787-1840; Fredrick, 1788-; Catherine (Katy), 1791-; Daniel 1793-; Molly S. (Polly) 1795-; Peter, 1797-1845; Margaret (Peggy), 1799-1881; Sarah (Sallie) 1801-1834/50 and Susannah L. (Susie), 1803-
George and Margaret, his wife, were the first two buried in this cemetery.
