Dewey A. Boatright, 66, of Harrisburg, died Thursday, March 25, 2010. At his request, cremation has been accorded.
An informal memorial gathering will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Carrier Mills First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 109 E. Washington St. in Carrier Mills.
Burial of cremains will be in the North America Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.

Dewey A. Boatright, 66, Elm Street, Harrisburg, died 2:15 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at the home of his daughter in Carrier Mills.
He was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Saline County to James Lloyd Boatright and Mary Eva (Dunn) Boatright. He married Gloria Callan Messer on Oct. 7, 1977.
He was a master machinist for Caterpillar and was a retired coal miner.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Boatright of Harrisburg; a daughter, Teresa Ann (Joey) Harris of Carrier Mills; a son, Dewey Boatright Jr. and Dusky Steinsultz of Harrisburg; a brother, Lewis and Connie Boatright of Harrisburg; a niece, Delana (Thomas) Gregg; a nephew, Matthew (Kim) Boatright; special family friend, Joshua LaBotte; several grandchildren, Sierra Dawn Harris, Brandon Boatright, Christopher Boatright, Destiny Boatright, Renee McDonald, David McDonald, Shawn Depew and Dustin Depew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services with burial of cremains in the North America Cemetery will be at a later date.
The family prefers memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, Ill. 62959.
Arrangements entrusted to the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home, Carrier Mills.
