David Wayne Wedman, son of Roger and Delores (Hess) Wedman, was born September 2, 1957 in Anthony, Kansas. He passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita at the age of 52.
On January 29, 1992, David was united in marriage with Stephanie Watkins in Newkirk, Oklahoma and they made their home in Danville for several years before moving to Argonia about two years ago.
David worked at several jobs and was recently farming.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Wedman. Grandparents: Joe and Dorothy Wedman, Johnie & Naomi Hess; and brother-in-law Douglas Zimmer.
David will be deeply missed by his wife, Stephanie Wedman of the home in Argonia; one son, Nathan Wedman of Lawton, OK; his parents, Roger and Delores Wedman of Danville; four brothers: Eugene Wedman and wife, Kristina, Anthony, KS, Richard Wedman and wife, Teresa and Ronald Wedman, all of Argonia, and Galen Wedman and wife, Jo, Medicine Lodge, KS; two sisters: Linda Zimmer Head and husband, Jay and Marie Webster and husband, Ty, all of Argonia, Ks; nieces and nephews: Katie & Kyle Warden, Jake Wedman, Nicholas & Brandy Wedman. Tiffani and Derek Zimmer, Jacob Head, Jason Head, Karyn Head, Danielle Head, Jonathan Head; Amber Webster, Joshua Webster; great nieces and nephews: Korbin and Klaire Warden, Alyssa Martin, and Tristin & Justin Wedman; other relatives and many friends.
Recitation of the Rosary was held 7:30 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2009 with Mass of Christian burial held at 10:30 am Thursday, November 5, 2009 both at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Danville, of the St. Joan of Arc Parish Community with Father Michael Peltzer officiating. Tom & Georgia Wedman served as lectors and Leonard and Blondie Wedman were gift bearers. Randy Blanchat was altar server. The church choir sang "Amazing Grace", "Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden," and "On Eagles Wings" and were accompanied by Lorraine Muckenthaler. Honorary casket bearers were Albert Hitz, Hugh Wheelock, Jay Head, Allen Doman, Justin Light, and John Moore. Active casket bearers were Derek Zimmer, Nick Wedman, Jake Wedman, Steve Owen, Jarrod Koehler, and Dean Drouhard. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery at Danville. "Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt and "When I Get ToWhere I'm Going"by Brad Paisley were played. Memorials may be given to the David Wedman Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
