JOSEPH COOK was the son and one of 16 children born to Roger & Jane Dabb Cook
Joseph's parents brought the family to America about 1852 and settled initially in Jubilee Township in Peoria County, Illinois.
Joseph was first married to Mary Fox on January 25, 1874 in Peoria County, Illinois.
Four children were born to Joseph and Mary. They were;
1. Walter Henry Cook, born c. November 9, 1874 or on April 9, 1875 in Peoria County, Illinois. Walter died in infancy on 28 July 1875 in Peoria County, Illinois and his mortal remains were laid in the Mount Hawley Cemetery in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois. See his Find A Grave Memorial #171828543. He has a beautiful 140 plus year old stone as of 2018.

2. Arthur Cook, who later resided in Champaign, Illinois.

3. Louie Cook, who later resided in Armstrong, Illinois.

4. Virdie Cook, born c. 1879/80 in Peoria County, Illinois. Virdie later lived in Catlin.

At the time of the 1880 census, Joseph and his family are found in Princeville Township, Peoria County, Illinois, where Joseph is farming;

Mary (Fox) Cook died on April 25, 1885 in Peoria County and her earthly remains were laid to rest in the Princeville Township Cemetery in Princeville, Peoria County, Illinois.

Joseph was married 2nd on June 3, 1889 to Mary E. Walter in Vermillion County, Illinois. Two children were born to Joseph and Mary E. (Walter) Cook, including;
5. (Child) _____________ Cook, died in infancy.

6. Chester Cook, of Armstrong, Illinois.

At the time of the 1900 census, Joseph and his family are found in the village of Rankin, Butler Township, Vermilion County, Illinois. Joseph and Mary have been married for 11 years and Mary has had two children, only one, Chester, is living;

Joseph Cook died at the Lake View Hospital in Danville, Illinois on May 18, 1828. Mary E. (Walter) Cook lived another 13 years. She passed away in 1941 and her earthly remains were laid to rest beside her husband of almost 40 yeas in the Partlow Cemetery.
