Heydour and Oasby are in a close group of parish hamlets, the others being Kelby, Culverthorpe, Aisby. Jane Dabb (spelled Dabs) was baptised in the church of St. Michael in Heydour on April 22, 1822 according to the parish register.
Jane Dabb was married to Roger Cook in England c. 1840. Sixteen children are believed to have been born to Roger and Jane, at least seven in England and at least seven in America.
