My mother died on the same day her dad did. She said this was a picture of my grandfather. To me, it doesn't look like him.

My grandfather, Herbert J. Mitchell, is on the right with his brother-in-law, John Werthmann.

My mother, Mercedes M. Mitchell Chop is on the left holding her beloved Duchess; I am in the middle holding Tabby; my brother, Porky, is holding Bum (Duchess' pup); my grandfather, Herbert J. Mitchell, is in the rear with the 2nd greatest woman who ever lived, my grandmother, Mary Werthmann Mitchell. Missing from the photo was my drunken father, who succumbed to alcoholism sometime afterwards when he was 35. The picture was taken in our front yard on Second Avenue in Conway, PA. Across the street to the right is Isaly's and to the left is the beer garden.
