Harry was a long time resident of Tulsa. He was named for his uncle. Predeceased by parents Henry Clay Buchanan and Della Ann Foster Buchanan. Survived by wife of 37 years, Bernice Lucille Fox Buchanan; father of Harry Keith (now deceased), Bobby Lee, Michael, Patrick, Kevin, Mildred(Sissie)Pabst and Martha(Martie)Cawvey. He was brother to Mildred, Fern, Robert (Buster), Bill, and Chatt (all deceased as of 11/1/00).

In December 2003, Harry will be inducted, along with others in his unit,into the Holocaust Education Center at the Miller Museum in Tulsa, OK. It was dedicated in April 1995, fifty years after the liberation of Dachau by members of the Oklahoma 45th Infantry Division, commemorating the victims of the Nazi genocide. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Received 2 Bronze Stars for service in Europe. Served with the 42nd Rainbow Division, 45th Infantry Division and the 4050 ASU (Army Security Unit).

Harry was also a former police officer of Lynnwood, CA, Westminster, CA and Tulsa, OK. Retired as Deputy Marshall in Orange County CA. He was a member of Hale Baptist Church, the American Legion, VFW and DAV.
