Photo image sent to Robert Griffith by Victoria Tate on March 16, 2008. "Here is a photo of my great grandmother, Victoria Mitchell Adams. It was taken in 1921. So she was only 53 at the time, but looks so much older. She is in the middle of the front row. My grandfather, Walter Mitchell Adams, is in the back row, second from the left, with the bow tie. These are all 7 of Victoria's children. Back row: Ethel Mae, Walter Mitchell, Lillian Gertrude, John Talmadge, Mary Annie. Front Row: Calvin Monroe, Victoria, Edgar Harrison. Victoria's husband, James Marshall Adams, had died in 1916. I think that this is Victoria's home on 7th St. in Statesville. Her father, James Monroe Mitchell, had died (June 13, 1920) in this home a year before this photo was taken. One of my great aunt Annie's sons is in the doorway. (Mary) Annie and her husband, Henry Poston, also lived on 7th St. So this may have been their home. I hope you all have a great Easter! Your cousin, Vickie
