Elizabeth Merkert was a daughter of John W. Merkert and his wife whose name was akin to Lovina, Ludvina, or Lowena, depending on the document consulted. She was just over age 2 at her death.

Elizabeth was the sister of my great great grandmother, Mary Merkert. Elizabeth is buried, as her parents were, in Saint Mary's GC churchyard, presumably German Catholic.

The address of the family at the time she passed was 135 Levering Street, shown as "Lavering" on the death certificate. This is an unassuming twin home on a street sloping down toward the Schuylkill River. It is also near the intersection of Smick Street, a street name that shows up a few times in the family, notably as where this Elizabeth's father's funeral was held at his son in law's residence.

Young Elizabeth's death certificate data is below, and the actual certificate is shown with this memorial.
