Curtis Markwell, 1038 Andress Ct., 64 years old retired farmer, died at his home yesterday at 6:30 PM. He had been in poor health for about a year.Curtis' mother was Sarah Matilda(Tilly) Arnold. I have not been able to locate her burial place as yet. Curtis had one brother, William French Markwell.

Mr. Markwell was born in Jasper County March 28, 1883 the son of Samuel Landon and Sarah (Tilly) Arnold Markwell. He was married to Katherine Colin of Lovington in 1917, she survives him.

He has been in Decatur five years, moving here from Sullivan. He leaves his wife and two sons, George and Harry, both of Decatur.

He leaves six sisters, Mrs. Mable Beaty, Mrs. Wilma Cottrell, Mrs. Ethel Burns, Mrs. Sylvia McDaniel and Mrs. Goldie Tolly and a brother Grover all of Decatur. One brother, William French preceded him in death.
