Enlisted on February 8, 1863 at Halifax County, North Carolina as a Private in the 42nd North Carolina Infantry, Company C. POW on June 1, 1864 at Cold Harbor, Virginia. Confined on June 11, 1864 to Point Lookout, Maryland. Transferred to Elmira, New York on July 17, 1864. Died of disease as a POW.
