OBITUARY:
Ella Newton, daughter of Abel S. and Maria Jane Newton, who was born in Morgan Co., Ohio, October 23 1865, and departed this life August 26, 1926 at her home near Stamford.
She was united in marriage to Albert Rush, October 4, 1884. In December of that year they moved to Furnas County, Nebr., where she has since resided excepting a few years spent on a homestead in Kansas.
In early life she united with the Methodist Protestant church. In later years when this local church united with the United Brethren she became a member of that church and has since been identified with it.
Her life of almost sixty-two years has been given to her family, relatives and friends in loving service. No case when she could aid ever found her help lacking.
Her eldest daughter, Mrs Edith Winders. preceded her to the Great Beyond a little more than two years.
She leaves her husband, Mr Albert Rush; her children; Harold Rush and Mrs Lora Lemonds of Furnas county, Nebr., and Forest Rush of Grand Island, Nebr.; six grandchildren; her mother, Mrs M.J. Newton of Furnas county; two sisters; Mrs Alice White of Stockport, Ohio, Mrs A.C. Deaver of Hot Springs, Ark; five brothers; Perley, Thos.F., Ziba, E.Guy, and Bernard A., besides many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at the Bethel church, conducted by Rev. S.S. Lemonds of Strang, assisted by Rev. F.X. Mann of Hollinger. The five Newton brothers and a brother-in-law, Charles Coffey, were the pall bearers. Interment was in the Deaver Cemetery.
