Mrs. Pearl F. Potter was born October 18, 1888 to Thomas and Clarcia (Hisel) Hatfield in the Town of Stark, Vernon Co. She passed away Wednesday, March 5, 1980 in the St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Hillsboro, where she had been a resident since March, 1974. She was 91 years of age. On October 28, 1906 she married Bert O. Potter and they farmed near La Farge until 1923 when they moved into La Farge. Mr. Potter passed away March 23, 1932. She is survived by two sons, Willie of Merrillan; and Emmett of Hillsboro; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Juliette) Durden of Kenosha; and Mrs. Roberta Risen of La Farge; 15 grandchildren; and one brother, Peter Hatfield of La Farge. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Omary and Clarence; one daughter, Nellie; three brothers, Charles, Aaron, and John; and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Chase, and Mrs. Dell Chesebro. Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 8, 1980 at 2:00 p.m. in the La Farge Free Methodist Church. Rev. Dorothy Clark and Rev. Floyd Johnson officiated. Music was proveded by Mrs. Nita Bolden and Mr. Gervase McHenry. Burial was in the Bear Creek Cemetery, with lunch being served following the committal services at the fellowship hall. Johnson-Seland Funeral Home, La Farge was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: David Durden, Donald Potter, Matt Potter, Dale Durden, Larry Potter, Dean Smith
