Dr. Maud Brokaw died shortly after 8 o'clock Tuesday morning at her home, 200 Second Street. She had been in ill heath for an extended period and her condition had been critical for the last several months.
Her death follows that of her brother, Dr. E.B. Brokaw, prominent Findlay civic leader for many years by six weeks. He passed away March 14 after an illness of several years.
Dr. Maud Brokaw was an osteopathic physician and had practiced in Detroit for an extended period. She came to Findlay in 1941 to reside with her brother, following the sudden death of his wife, who passed away while they were on a trip to Florida. At that time, she retired from active practice.
She was a native of Richmond, Ohio. Upon completion of her schooling there, she went to Iowa , where she attended osteopathic college. Upon receiving her degree, she went to Detroit, to engage in the practice of osteopathy.
While in Detroit, she was active in Women's club and civic affairs and belonged to the Zonta club for many years. She was a charter member of the Women's City club of Detroit.
During her residence in Findlay, she became a member of the Coterie club.
She is survived by one brother, Ernest Brokaw of Grove City, Ohio, and three nephews, all of Cleveland.
The body was taken to the Barnhart Memorial.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 o'clock Thursday morning at the Barnhart Memorial. The Rev Donald W. Cryer, pastor of the First Methodist church, will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove cemetery.
