Emma Louise Brower, 88, of Burlington and formerly of Peoria, Illinois and Centralia, Kansas died at 5:27 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2010, at Great River Medical Center's Klein Center.

Emma Louise (Hoffman) Brower was born 9 April 1921 to Christopher A. and Mertie (Lee) Hoffman on a farm west of Centralia, KS.

She married in Seneca, KS, to William "Bill" P. Brower on 28 January 1937. They started their married life in Peoria, IL, were Bill worked for much of his career.

Emma's and Bill's only child, Shirley, was born in Centralia prior to Bill's U.S. Navy service during WW II.

After Bill's death in 2002 in Burlington, Emma moved to the Klein Center and resided there until her death.

Emma Brower is survived by a brother, Norbert Hoffman of Centralia, KS, and a grand daughter, Diane Hingst, of Iowa.

Lunning Funeral Home and Chapel in Burlington handled the cremation arrangements.
