Pure in heart - Ella LaVere Gregersen passed away peacefully March 20,2010.
Ella was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Park City, to Ephraim and Zina Adamson. She graduated from Park City High School as salutatorian and student body president. Through her own means and hard work she received a bachelor's degree from Utah State Agricultural College, majoring in physical education with minors in physiology and music.
Following graduation Ella joined the Red Cross during World War II serving as the recreation director on military bases in Alaska - including the Aleutian Islands. After the war she was called to serve as a full-time missionary in Sweden. Upon completion of her mission, she returned to Utah and taught school in Marysvale. There she met her future husband while filling in as piano player in his band. They were married in the Manti LDS temple July 17, 1950.
She is survived by her three children, Max A.(Fontaine)
Gregersen, Susan D. (Douglas) Heaton, and Hal B (Suzi) Gregersen, 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garth Clifford Gregersen- 1919-1996. Our family wishes to express deep appreciation to our angels on Earth, Dusty Vernon and Michele Nester, for their devoted service and care of our mother through her ordeal with Alzheimer's Disease. Their personal sacrifices and unconditional love lifted her spirits, gave her dignity and peace, and allowed her to carry out her desire to remain in her own home to the very end.
Funeral services are scheduled to take place Thursday,
March 25, in the Murray LDS 8th ward chapel, 160 East 4600 South, Murray. Interment is slated for 3 p.m. at the Richfield Cemetery.
