She was born April 6, 1912, in Kloten, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Ludwig) Schneider. She married Roman Pethan on Nov. 9, 1933 at Kloten. She farmed with her husband in Charlesburg all of her life. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg and the Christian Women.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Valeria Pethan of Chilton, Bernard and Eileen Pethan of Chilton, George and JoAnn Pethan of Chilton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Arlene and Donald Kraus of Kohler; Clare and Greg Hilt of Waupun; Marion Olsen of Milwaukee; 22 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 23, 1991 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg with the Rev. Paul Schulze SDS officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
