Came to US in 1906. Married Anna Elizabeth Miller in 1894.Children David, Anna Betz( married a Betz no relation) Fred II, Lydia Lasnik, and Willam.

Frederick Betz claimed “German, born in Russia”. Frederick Betz first wife was Julia Mueller (per son Alexander Betz 25 April 1983 obit, see memorial 162636905) and they had two children, Marie and Alexander Betz. His first wife apparently died soon after their son Alexander was born in November 1893. Friederick soon married again to his second wife, Anna Elizabeth Miller. Freidrick, his 2nd wife Anna, and his children, Marie, Alexander, David, Anna and Friederick, arrived at Galveston, TX on 16 July 1906, on the ship Hannover to meet his cousin Heinrich Scheibel in Denver (Freidrick’s mother’s maiden name is Scheibel), having sailed to Galveston, TX from Bremen, Germany. Not long after arriving in Colorado, Friederick and Anna had two additional children, Lydia and William Betz. By the time of the 1920 census, Friederick and Anna had split up. Friederick was living with his son, Alexander, in Keota, Weld Co, Colorado and Anna appeared in the 1920 census for Lafayette, Boulder Co, Colorado listed as Ennie Haof, wife of Fred Haof, along with her three youngest children Fred, Lydia and William Betz.”
