Martha Emilie Wendler, age 82, Bowler, died July 14, 1969 at her home.

She was born July 25, 1886 in Leopolis the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Hoppe) Brunner.

On October 18, 1906 Martha was united in marriage to Otto H. Wendler in Wittenberg. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1960.

Survivors include nine children, Leonora (Lyman) Schulz, Milton (Esther) Wendler, Zela (Herman) Schwartzkopf, Edna (John) Gara, Dora (Arthur) Spiegel, Sadie (Harold) Thomek, Herman (Eunice) Wendler, Margaret (Roland) Gutter and Alma (James) Giesel; 37 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Leo Brunner, Ernest Brunner and Alex Brunner.

In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by a son, Marvin and a sister, Marianna Laude.

Funeral services were held July 16, 1969 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Walter Kreger officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
