Mrs. Mary Rohde, long a resident of this community, passed away at the hospital home of Mrs. Schwann at Mattoon Saturday morning at 3:30, at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 12 days.

Funeral services were held at St. John's church Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. Carl Musall officiating. Mrs. A. H. Maack and Mrs. John Larson sang. Interment was in the family lot in Forest Home Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edw. Aggen, John Hartleben, William Danback, Frank Westphal, Gust Budahn and Louis Schulz.

Those from out of town at the funeral were: Fred Brunner, of Winlock, Washington, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Brunner and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Brunner, of Milwaukee, Edward Brunner, of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Mr. and Mrs. August Laude, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laude, Mr. and Mrs. A. Balke and Anita Westphal, of Pella, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Laude and family, Mrs. Frank Kolpack, Mrs. Ted Buettner, Miss Mollie Kolpack, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wendler and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Fuhrmann, and son Allen, of Bowler, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Spiegel and daughter, Rebecca, of Tigerton, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Wendler and William Wiseman, of Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Diestler, of Birnamwood, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Brunner and Mrs. Tom Cundy, of Wausau and many other friends.

Mary Hoppe was born at West Bend, this state, on January 1, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoppe. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in West Bend. On October 13, 1878, she was married to Leonard Brunner. They lived in Milwaukee for a short time before moving to the town of Seneca, in this county, where they lived on a farm for five years. They then lived in Leopolis for 20 years. Seventeen years of that time they ran a hotel and tavern at that place. In 1905, 38 years ago, they moved to this village. Mr. Brunner died here on March 17, 1915. Three years later, she was married to Frank Rohde, who passed away here on March 16, 1932. Mrs. Rohde went to Mattoon on September 16, last, to receive care and treatments and died there on March 13, within a few days of the anniversaries of the death of her two husbands.

Surviving are four sons, Fred G. Brunner, of Winlock, Washington, Alex Brunner and Leo Brunner, of Milwaukee, and Ernest Brunner, of Wausau; two daughters, Martha (Mrs. Otto Wendler) of Bowler, and Mary Ann (Mrs. John Laude), of this village; 43 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
