Ruth was born in Lawrence MA and remained in that area until about 1914 when her parents separated. At that time, she, her mother and little sister moved to Derry NH to live with her Great Aunt and Uncle, Nettie (Dow) and Alfred Web for a few years. Ruth began her elementary schooling in Derry. By about 1920 the small family moved to Salem NH where Ruth graduated from high school in 1926, the first graduating class of the recently constructed Woodbury High School.
In the early 1930's Ruth married Arthur Ladebush. They had a son, her only child. Sadly, the marriage did not survive and they were divorced by 1943. Ruth and her son lived with her mother in Salem until she remarried in Windham NH at her sister's house on Sept. 1, 1957 to Emile Marotte. They purchased a home in Salem in which town they remained until their deaths.
Ruth was a quiet, reserved, simple woman who worked hard all her life. She was a bookkeeper and sometime office manager in several shoe shop offices in the area, including Stillman Shoe in Lawrence, where she got her sister a job during World War II. She also worked for many years in the office of the Coca Cola Bottling plant in Salem.
