GEORGE FRANCIS COOPER, JR., 93, died March 31, 2010. He was born Jan. 29, 1917 in Cleveland, the fourth of nine children of Isabelle and George Cooper.

He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corps; a Cleveland Policeman for 36 years; and an active member of the Retired Irish Police Society which named him Man of the Year in 1992.

He is survived by Eileen (nee Kirby), his wife of nearly 63 years; sons George, Walter (Sherry), Patrick (Joann), Michael and John (Martha); daughters Rosemary Miller (Jim), Annie DiGiovanni (Gary) and Colleen Russell (John); sisters Isabelle McKay and Mary Jane O'Brien; 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son, William; brother, Walter; and sisters, Catherine O'Brien, Angela Megraw, Ursula Mobley, Margaret O'Brien and Therese Valentine. Christian Burial Service Saturday, April 3, St. Francis DeSales Church (Corner of State and Snow Rds, Parma) at 10:00 a.m.

Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at CHAMBERS FUNERAL HOME, 4420 ROCKY RIVER DR. AT PURITAS, THURSDAY & FRIDAY 4-8 P.M.
