Isabelle E. McKay

January 30, 1922 - October 14, 2012

Isabelle Elizabeth McKay passed away into the arms of the angels surrounded by her family, on October 14, 2012 at Medina Hospice Care Center after several years of declining health at the age of 90. Previously Isabelle was at Villa Camillus Nursing Home for nine months.

Isabelle was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.

Isabelle was born on January 30, 1922 and grew up in Rocky River on Woodbury Avenue. Isabelle lived with her husband and children most of her years in Medina County. Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents Isabelle and George Cooper, sisters Catherine, Mary Angela, Ursula, Margaret and Therese; brothers Walter, George and nephew Bill.

Isabelle is survived by her family; her loving husband Douglas, to whom she was married for 71 years. Douglas was always by her side taking care of her as her health declined the last few years. Children: Beverly A. Lakatosh (Joseph), Douglas F. McKay, Jr. (Donna), Isabelle J.Bratcher (Carl). Sister Mary Jane O'Brien (Gene) and Sister-in-law Betty Gilbert (Gil) Grandchildren- Debbie A. Bengough (Ron), Joseph J. Lakatosh (Valerie), Jason Meyers (Molly), Shane Meyers (Michelle), Matthew Bratcher (Kara), Stephanie McCurdy (Brad), Danielle Dubber (Eric), and Doug McKay III (Ashley). Great Grandchildren- Ron (Julie), Russell (Michelle), Heidi (Don) Tyler, Allison, Megan, Darcy, Aric, Marissa, Olyvia, Melina, Matthew, Clay, Penelope, Gabe, Zoey and Shane and Michelle's baby to be. Great great grandchildren- Audrey, Shane, Alexis, Alyssa and Leah. Isabelle also leaves behind 46 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

Isabelle graduated from Parma High School and attended Baldwin Wallace College; she worked at the VA hospital until she retired. Isabelle enjoyed her family, cooking, sewing, her church, taking her grandchildren places and time spent with her family. She taught us the importance of religion and having God in our life, the importance of helping and caring for others and the value and importance of family. Along with many life lessons you can only learn from a parent.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin of Tours 1800 Station Road Valley City, OH Interment- Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City, OH Calling hours- Weds. 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH
