Gladys Marie Burton, 87, of Stonington, IL died at 3:15 pm Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Meadow Manor Nursing Home, Taylorville.
She was born July 26, 1922 in Saxton, MO the daughter of Charles and Maude McPheeters O'Dell. On December 25, 1941 she married Walter Burton in Stonington and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2004. Mrs. Burton was a member of First Baptist Church in Stonington and the Dorcas Circle, she was also active in numerous church functions.
Surviving are her daughters: Dorothy Davis and husband Cletus of Taylorville, Nancy Carico and husband Ray of Des Moines, IA, Mary Brown, and Donna Hardin and husband Dave both of Taylorville. 9 grandchildren: Craig Allen of Stonington, Brian Allen of Columbia, MO, Clete A. Davis of Taylorville, Robert Burton Davis in the Air Force in Korea, Erica Stajcar of Leavenworth, KS, Michael Brown of Long Beach, CA, Joe Brown of Des Moines, IA, Jennifer Hardin of St. Charles, MO and Matt Hardin of Taylorville. There is one great grandson: Cooper Stajcar. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister, Mildred Gilmore and 2 brothers, Claude O'Dell and Marvin O'Dell, 2 sons-in-law: Ivan Allen and Tom Price and 2 granddaughters: Tracy Allen and Marie Price.
