Alfred was the son of Sampson and Hannah (nee Whitener/Whitner) Hawn. He married Elizabeth Caroline Whitener 16 March 1848 in Madison, Missouri. The couple had 11 children together. Alfred married Sarah E NIckless/Nichols 7 Nov 1895. His first wife passed away 1 Feb 1895.

Per Veterans Schedules, Alfred Hawn was a Lieutenant in the 79th Regiment in Missouri and served from 15 Jun 1864 until June of 1865. If you have more information on Alfred's Civil War service, please contact me.
