Railroad owned by U. S. Steel hauling iron ore to shipping docks located on Lake Superior.

He belonged the John Knapp Lodge of the Masons as a tyler.

Horatio died on the floor of the Duluth, St. Louis Co., armory housing victims of the 1918 Flu Pandemic.
