Mrs. Julia Kreigshauser (sic) departed this life January 26th, 1906, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Frobes, in Edina, Mo.
The deceased was born at Maikammer, Bavaria, Germany, May 10th, 1830. Her husband proceeded her in death by more than 35 years, leaving to her charge their six sons and one daughter. How nobly she performed this trust is best judged by the high estimation in which she and they are held by this community.
It is needless to praise her memory. To those who did not know the strength and beauty of her quiet yet forceful nature we need but say, "By her fruit you shall know her."
Who is there but knows and admires her honest, intelligent, progressive sons and her faithful cultured daughter?
John Kreigshauser (sic), her oldest son lives in Oklahoma, but prior to his moving there about two years ago, was one of our most successful farmers. Charles E., Frank L. and George M. still reside in the neighborhood of the old home where they have acquired many broad acres of Knox county's most productive land and where they are rearing large families of healthy, frugal, industrious children, fit successors to the older generation.
Enos S. and William are the proprietors of the well known Kreigshauser (sic) Bros. furniture store and their integrity and success are too well known to need comment. They too are still interested in farming and the former is one of the largest land owners of Liberty township.
Mrs. Will Frobes, the only daughter, is the wife of the senior member of the firm of Frobes Bros., proprietors of one of the largest hardware stores in rural Missouri, and is known with her husband as one of the most successful entertainers and leaders in her social circle in Edina.
Mrs. Kreigshauser (sic) was a life long Catholic and her large funeral was conducted from St. Joseph's church, where a high mass of requium (sic) was celebrated at 10 o'clock Monday morning, and from thence it wended its way to St. Joseph's new cemetery where she was interred amid the prayers, and tributes of respect of her relatives and friends.
