Maybelle R. Tobbe, 90, of Litchfield, Pa., passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at home.

Born July 9, 1916, in East Athens, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Liddard Catlin.

Maybelle loved to travel, read, knit, crochet and bowl. She was a member of the Litchfield United Methodist Church since 1935, where she taught Sunday School, and was a part of the Litchfield United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Litchfield Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Walter, at home; children, Richard and Judy Tobbe of Athens, Pa,, Frederick and Gale Tobbe of Merrimack, N.H., and Daniel and Linda Tobbe of Horseheads, N.Y,; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home Inc., 225 S. Main St. in Athens, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Austin officiating.

Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made in her name to the Litchfield United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, RR1, Box 99, Sayre, Pa. 18840.
