Helen C. Duggan, 94, of RR1, Athens, Pa. passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004 at the Robert Packer Hospital.
Born Sept. 11, 1909 in Litchfield Township, Pa., she was the daughter of Robert and Ethel Liddiard Catlin. She was a 1927 graduate of Athens High School. For many years Helen helped her husband operate the plumbing and heating business. Helen was a 50 year plus member of the Athens United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Diahoga Grange. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and William VanSlyke of Athens, Pa. and a daughter-in-law, Elsia Duggan of Newport News, VA; Six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mable Tobby of Litchfield, Pa. several nieces, nephews and a cousin, Eleanor Walker. Her husband G. Llewellyn in 1998; her sons, Robert and Thomas Duggan, her sister, Mary Sackett and brothers, Ralph and Robert Catlin, predeceased her. Family and friends may call at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main St Athens, Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral and committal services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald Anderson officiating.
Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, Pa. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Athens United Methodist Church, Project Renewal, 118 South Main St. Athens, Pa. 18810. contributed by Carol Brotzman
