Brice Dollar was born 1824 in Laurens District, South Carolina, to Joseph and Hannah Prather Dollar. In 1832 he moved with his parents to Meriwether County, Georgia. With the untimely death of his father in 1833, Brice lived on the plantation with his mother and siblings until he reached adulthood. He married Naomi Oliver in 1849 and worked as the overseer of the Simeon Poteet plantation in Meriwether County. After the death of his mother in 1853 and the finalization of the estate in 1856, Brice and Naomi moved to Randolph County, Alabama and lived in the area known as Louina. He died there in 1879 and was buried in the family burial plot behind the homeplace. This is the Dollar/Jeter Cemetery.
