DIED: -- Mrs. Fannie Gilbert at her home two miles south of Ithaca, September 5th, 1891 at 5 o'clock p.m., aged 27 years, 5 months, 16 days. Deceased was born near Venice, Illinois, March 18, 1864. At her mother's death when she was but thirteen months old she was given to her mother's sister, Mrs. Geo. Vansickle and came with her when but a little child to the home in which she died. She was married to Chas. A. Gilbert, July 5, 1881, and was the mother of three children, two of whom preceded her to the spirit land. Her youngest, a little babe of 4 months and 14 days, passed over the river but a few days before her. Mrs. Gilbert had been an invalid since she suffered from an attack of the grippe some eighteen months before her death. About five weeks ago the disease from which she suffered assumed a fatal form and they must soon bid a final farewell to their dear one. Everything was done for her that medical skill could do but all to no avail. She leaves a husband, daughter and aunt and many friends who deeply mourn her loss. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Belville and she was laid to rest beside her little ones in the Ithaca cemetery.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still;
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
