KATHARINE PAULINE LEDEBUR ZUENDEL
7-3-1873 -- 6-30-1951

Katharine P. Zuendel died suddenly of a heart attack in her home at Starr on June 30th. A daughter of Fred and Dorcas Ledebur, Mrs. Zuendel was born July 3, 1873, at Starr, Forest
County, and had resided there her entire life.

On July 3, 1890, she was united in marriage with John Martin Zuendel who died on February 23, 1926. Of her seven children, two preceded her in death, Raymond, in 1892, and Floyd in 1945.
Those surviving are: Glenn of Tionesta; Harl and Lester of Starr; Mrs. Curtis Dickrager and Mrs. Robert Leonard of Starr. Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive; seven sisters and one brother: Mrs. Beula Devine of California; Mrs. Amanda Whaley of Shelton, Washington; Mrs. Sophia Davidson of Womka, Washington; Mrs. Clara Davis and Mrs. Alice Bisker of Tionesta; Mrs. Minnie Childs of Kennedy, NY; Mrs. Virginia Gemberling, Athens, NY; and George Ledebur, Sheffield.

Mrs. Zuendel was a faithful member of the Starr Evangelical United Brethren Church and had served as Sunday School Superintendent for sixteen years. She was also a teacher of the Adult Bible Class. A devout Christian, she had an intense interest in all community and church affairs. The community has lost a kindly citizen and her family a loving mother.

Funeral services in her memory were held Tuesday, July 3, at 2:30 with her pastor, Rev. L. C. Pierce, officiating. Interment was in the Starr Church cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: Chester, Walter, Roy Zuendel, and Lawrence, William, and Harry Brady.
