Mary Margaret Miller Hutchings, 71, of Indianapolis (formerly of Jamestown, Ind.), died at 3:40 a.m. on, Saturday, February 1-3, 1999 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Ind.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 1999 at the Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Ind. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Visitation services were held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 14 and from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 1999 at the Porter Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Mary Hutchings was born May 16, 1927 in Martinsville, the daughter of Ben Miller and Frances Carpenter Miller. She married Robert E. Hutchings, Sr. on December 31, 1945. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1987.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Hutchings, Jr. of Greencastle, Ind., James Hutchings of Lizton, Ind., and Vic Hutchings of Brownsburg, Ind.; two daughters, Sharon Wooters of Indianapolis and Diana Dawes of Lebanon, Ind.; two brothers, Wayne Miller of Bradenton, Fla, and Dale Miller of Martinsville; two sisters, Martha Smith of Greenwood, Ind. and Sylvia Watson of Indianapolis; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and one daughter, Karen Cochran.

Mary Hutchings was a graduate of Martinsville High School and a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in Martinsville. She was a cook at Granville Wells Elementary School. She retired in 1987.
