OBITUARY Eufaula Indian Journal
Dave Drew, 53 years old, World War I veteran and Creek Indian citizen, born and reared here, died suddenly at his home in the east end of the city early this morning of a heart attack.

Under the care of physicians for the past several years, Drew was known to have been in failing health, but was able to do light tasks and said to have worked all of Wednesday and seemingly was alright at the time he retired Wednesday evening.

Coming from a prominent and influential Creek family, Drew was active in public affairs. He served several terms as a member of the city council from his ward and was an active member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home will be held Friday, 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. S. B. Barnett, of Keota, former pastor of the Eufaula Church, officating.

Survivors include the widow, 4 daughters and 3 sons, Eliose, Leola, Ruth and Tina, Robert, David Jr. and Frederick and several brothers and sisters.

Burial will be in the Ewing Cemetery, 2 miles northeast of the city.
