He was a native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County and was retired from Ailey Manufacturing Company. He was Holiness Baptist by faith.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Vinia Gillis of Glenwood; his mother, Jewell D. Gillis of Glenwood; two brothers, the Rev. Luther Gillis of Glenwood and the Rev. Ray Gillis of Rincon; a sister, Voncille Nelms of Rincon; and several grandchildren.
VISITATION: 3:30 p.m. today at Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service, Glenwood Chapel.
FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday at Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service, Glenwood Chapel, burial in Mount Carmel Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery near Alamo.
