Mrs. Phillips was born in 1855. She joined Antioch Baptist Church in early girlhood. She wa a faithful member while able to attend. Her death came as a shock to her many friends. She was a cheerful neighbor and a good Christian mother and will be missed by all that knew her.
She leaves to mourn her death five daughters, four sons, one sister and one brother. She survived her husband by 8 years and one day.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. A. Paul. Interment was in the family cemetery.

She was the daughter of Wright Pitman & Mary Elizabeth Nance. Wright Pitman was the son of Charity Taylor & Stephen Pitman. Stephen Pitman was the son of Sion Pitman & Elizabeth Betsy Glare. Elizabeth Betsy Glare was the daughter of Stephen & Mary Glare.
