Virginia L. Bruckschen, age 93, former village of Cleveland resident, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Terrace Estates in Sheboygan.

Virginia was born Feb. 8, 1917, in Cleveland, Wis. She was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Alma Hildebrand Reinemann. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan High School, class of 1934. On Oct. 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to Clarence H. Bruckschen at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. The couple resided in the town of Centerville, where they engaged in dairy farming. The marriage was blessed with four children. Virginia and Clarence retired from farming in 1955 and moved to the village of Cleveland in 1984. Virginia was a member of St. John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cleveland. She was a charter member of the church Ladies Aid Society, a 50 year member of the church choir, served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Married People Society, and served for ten years as church custodian. She was active with several card clubs in the area and the Manitowoc County Homemakers. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, crafting and playing games with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

Virginia is survived by her husband: Clarence; four children: Kenneth (Judy) Bruckschen of Cleveland, Joanne (Gary) Van Calster of Green Bay, Sharon (Dale) Lorfeld of Burlington, and Larry (Nancy) Bruckschen of Cleveland; twelve grandchildren: Michael (Renee) Bruckschen, Randall (Sharon) Bruckschen, Troy (Dawn) Bruckschen, Steve (Jill) Hirschmann, Dawn Barnes, Kathlyn (Kevin) Reim, Wendy (Larry) Johnson, Amy (Kurt) Isenberger, Stacy (Kevin) Becker, Jennifer (Nic) Ondrako, Daniel Bruckschen and Cory Bruckschen; two stepgrandchildren: Brian (Rene) Van Calster and Todd (Jill) Van Calster; twenty three great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren, two brothers: Karl Reinemann and Donald (Shirley) Reinemann; two sisters-in-law: Helen Busse and LaVerne Bruckschen; and one brother-in-law: Ambrose Wallersheim. Preceding her in death are one sister and brother-in-law: Helen and Ray Lutze; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Reinemann and Esther Wallersheim and two brothers-in-law: William Bruckschen and Gilbert Busse.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at St John and St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1251 West Washington Ave., Cleveland. The Rev. David Endorf will officiate and burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery (Kassa Cemetery) in the town of Centerville. Herald Times Reporter
