Mrs. Ruth Johnson Byars, 84, 708 Somerville Rd. SW, died at her home today at 3:20 a.m.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.W. Lovett conducting. Burial will be in the City Cemetery with Brown directing.
Survivors include three daughters, Miss Aleene Byars, Decatur; Mrs. Cecil Young, and Mrs. Ethel Smith, Decatur; two sons, J.W. Byars, Moulton; and T.F. Byars, Decatur; and nine grandchildren.

Ruth Johnson married Virgil A. Byars on March 25, 1900 in Lawrence County, Alabama. They had James W. Byars and Thomas Fink Byars.
Ruth Johnson Byars married James M. Byars on May 7, 1908. This was second marriage for both Ruth and James M. Byars.
They had Aleene Byars, Peggy and Ethel.
