His obituary reads: Funeral services for John Manuel (Jack) Morsett, 76, were held Tuesday, January 2, at Lindsey Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ben Whitfield officiating.
Ardeth Kocourek sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Betty Olson was organist.
Active pallbearers were grandsons: Garland Spears, Jeff Spears, Clint Morsett, Neil Morsett, Gary Morsett and Lloyd Morsett.
Internment was made at Martin Community Cemetery, Ziegler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Morsett died Monday, December 25, 1989, at Gillette, Wyoming. He was born September 7, 1913, at Royal, Nebraska.
In December, 1938, he was married to Faustine Dye at Casper, Wyoming, and in 1942 they moved to the Blackpipe area and farmed and ranched until 1959 when they moved to Martin.
Morsett worked on various ranches and for the City of Martin until 1972 when he moved to Gillette and worked in the oil fields until he retired in 1980.
Survivors include two sons, Sonny of Douglas, Wyoming, and Ronnie of Ottawa, Kansas; one daughter, Kay Wilton of Superior, Montana; 21 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert and Bob; and two sisters, Ida and Mildred; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faustine, in 1965; one daughter and two sons.
